Conference entitled "The International Monetary Fund and the South Caucasus in the 21st Century"

CRRC, IMF and Central Bank of Georgia conducted a conference entitled "The International Monetary Fund and the South Caucasus in the 21st Century" on June 1-2, 2006 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The conference brought together IMF resident representatives, government officials, researchers and policy practitioners from academic institutions, think-tanks and non-governmental organizations from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to dicuss the role of IMF in South Caucasus and prospects for the region’s development.  Participants addressed issues related to macroeconomic trends, poverty, labor market, social protection, education and health and explained the strategies used to address these challenges, with special attention to the strategies implemented by the IMF.
