Mr. Sabit Bagirov is President of Azerbaijan Foundation for Business Development and Entrepreneurship, and also the President of Center for Economic and Political Research. He completed graduate and post-graduate work at the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry and defended his dissertation at the Academy of Sciences.

Currently, Mr. Bagirov is also coordinator of NGO Coalition EITI-Azerbaijan, an organization devoted to transparency in oil funds, and member of an ad hoc group on the improvement of the legislation combating corruption. His prolific work experience includes president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and has headed several projects funded by Center for International Private Interprise, Eurasia Foundation, Open Society Institute, Transparency International, Fredrich Nauman Foundation, Fredrich Ebert Foundation, and DFID.
