Mr. Michael Djibouti is chairman of the Association of the Economists of Georgia (AEG) and the member of the Federation of Journalists of Georgia. Mr. Dijibouti holds an MA and PhD from Moscow Lomonosov University. Prior to being chairman of AEG, he served as dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Javakhishvil Tbilisi State University. He has also served as chairman of the National Securities Commission of Georgia, Deputy Minister of the Economy, Industry and Trade, Head of the State Inspection of Prices, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, and Minister of Economics. From 1995-1999, he was elected as a member of the Parliament of Georgia and served the Deputy Chairman of Finance and Budget Committee.
