Eugenie has recently earned her Bachelor’s Honours degree in European Studies (BA) from the University of Amsterdam. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she mainly specialised in Eastern European studies, with a particular focus on the Soviet South Caucasus. Her research interests include imperial history and nation-building, theories of nationalism, Orientalism, post-colonialism, and societies in transition. She has touched upon these themes extensively, both during her exchange at the Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as well as her BA Thesis fieldwork at the National Archives of Armenia. Before continuing her graduate studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Eugenie is volunteering at CRRC-Armenia, mainly working on the Human Rights project ‘Democratic Competences in a Digital Era’. She is also doing an internship at the Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) and has previously worked at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
