{"id":2225,"date":"2008-11-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-29T09:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crrc.am\/blog\/school-board-in-armenia-public-participation-and-power-balance\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T10:39:57","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T06:39:57","slug":"school-board-in-armenia-public-participation-and-power-balance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crrc.am\/en\/blog\/school-board-in-armenia-public-participation-and-power-balance\/","title":{"rendered":"School Board in Armenia: Public Participation and Power Balance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><\/p>\n<div> On November 12, 2008 a presentation &#8220;School Board in Armenia: Public Participation and Power Balance&#8221; was conducted by young researchers Satenik Mkrtchyan and Ruzanna Tsaturyan in the scope of the CRRC 2007 Fellowship Program.<\/div>\n<p> <a href=\"\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_g4EVbT-7mQU\/SRvifmm8LlI\/AAAAAAAAAd4\/89qyydSqxPc\/s1600-h\/DSC00038.jpg\" onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<div> Since 1996 the Government of Armenia started the educational system reforms under the guidance and by crediting of the World Bank, through realization of a credit program: &#8220;Education management and financial reforms&#8221;, one of the aims of which was the democratization of in-school management and transition to School Board governance. Thus, School Boards have been introduced to the secondary educational system of Armenia as a part of Secondary Education system management reform. By the introduction of principles of democratic government into schooling system, parents formally first time were considered as independent and responsive actors.
