Course description: The course will provide an introduction to quantitative data analysis using the statistical package Stata. Data from the Caucasus Barometer Surveys of CRRC will be used. The course is designed for students. Participants will be required to select a project on the first day and work on it over the 5-day training. Participants who will attend and successfully complete the required exercises and the entire project will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

 

Course outline: The course is scheduled for the period of October 7–11, 2013, from 2:00-5:00pm, with a coffee break in the middle.

About the trainer: Mr. Asatryan holds a Ph.D. in Data Mining from
Texas University (USA), and an MBA from American University of Armenia. He
currently works as a Director of the Masters program within Agribusiness
Teaching Center at the International Center for Agribusiness Research and
Education in Yerevan. Prior to joining this post, Dr. Asatryan worked with
USAID funded DAI program, Armenian
Technology Group Inc., Texas A&M (USA), USDA
Marketing Assistance Project in Armenia, etc. He has also a long track record
with CRRC-Armenia. Mr. Asatryan has conducted training for the research
community members on data analysis; served as Data analyst expert for the
Caucasus Barometer 2006 and 2011. In 2007 he used to be one out of seven
CRRC-Armenia fellows.
