Shushan Ghahriyan is a graduate of “Migration and Conflict Studies” Master’s program of the Faculty of Sociology, Yerevan State University. She was engaged in various research projects while studying. Now, Shushan is a researcher at Migration Competence Centre of the Faculty of Sociology, YSU. During May-November 2014, Shushan participated in “Armenian Women in Military Affairs” research project in the frames of research grant awarded by the YSU Center for Gender and Leadership Studies. During 2015-2016 academic years, she was the head of Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Sociology. She has participated in several conferences and seminars. Shushan’s research interests include social movements, issues of refugees, social alienation and integration problems. In 2015 she was awarded a scholarship from CRRC-Armenia for implementing the fieldwork of her MA thesis.

Topic of the thesis: “Sociological analysis of the Issue of Social Alienation of Syrian-Armenian Immigrants in Armenia”
