The Report was prepared by the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC)-Armenia in the framework of the project “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
The publication presents a comprehensive analysis of domestic work in Armenia, with a particular focus on the challenges, vulnerabilities, and regulatory gaps affecting domestic workers, as well as on possible pathways toward more sustainable and rights-based formalization of the sector.
The report is based on a multi-method research design combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Its qualitative component draws on in-depth interviews, semi-structured interviews, key informant interviews, and case studies, while the quantitative component is based on secondary analysis of Labor Force Survey data. Together, these methods provide a broad and grounded understanding of the field of domestic work in Armenia.
