Overview: The session will provide detailed information about the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) that brings more than 5000 participants from over 75 countries to a tiny village in the Austrian Alps to discuss topics such as health, politics, law, environment, economics, business and more. The EFA-2017 is planned for August 16-September 2 2017. Speakers will introduce all matters related to the Forum, including scholarship opportunities, participation requirements, application procedures, and selection criteria.
On Alpbach Forum: The EFA was founded in 1945 and held annually. It has 35 sister organizations and the EFA representative, the Initiative Group Alpbach Armenia (IGAA) in Yerevan. In 2010 the Forum was attended only by two Armenians and thanks to the activities of the IGAA the number of the Armenian participants has increased, reaching 10 in 2016. So far it welcomed 40 Armenians. Detailed information about the Forum and participation in it will be addressed during the presentation.
Marine Sargsyan is the Honorary President of the Initiative Group Alpbach Armenia, a Doctoral student at Leiden University, visiting Scholar at Columbia University and Harvard University.
